Its cloth, a 15oz Japanese selvedge, is woven in Okayama exclusively for the house on vintage shuttle looms, and dyed in the mill’s own indigo. The yarn is scattered with small knots of cotton, which give the cloth an irregular, lively grain; the indigo wears first on these raised points, so each jean fades in its own way. Sewn in Ibara, it is washed once: the cloth keeps a dry, broken-in hand and will no longer shrink.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrawn from early 20th-century military denim, the silhouette is mid rise with a wide leg. The button fly lies flat and clean; the buttons were designed for BOZO, the waist button struck with a laurel wreath. Flattened copper rivets, triple stitching at stress points and, on the back pockets, stitching that references BOZO’s leather jackets of the 1980s.
