Goatskin

A jacket in goatskin, passed through the flame before cutting. The heat catches the surface unevenly: it darkens the leather in clouds and draws up the grain where the flame lingered, while the areas it spared keep a suede-like hand. Each panel comes from a different part of the hide, so the shading shifts from one piece to the next and no two jackets are alike. From the first day, the leather has the look of one long lived in. Natural horn buttons, lined in cupro.

The pattern comes from the BOZO archive. A yoke runs across the chest and back, and the jacket is triple-stitched throughout in red-brown thread. Flapped patch pocket at the chest; below, the flaps sit on the waist seam and the pockets lie behind the panel, their rounded outline drawn only in topstitching.
